The driver of the DAF XF 105 failed to notice that the vehicle had become too hot. As a result, the Paccar engine was running without water. In the end, its liner had practically disappeared. Insane forces prevail in a truck engine and due to the lack of cooling in the engine, the liner became brittle before finally dissolving. The piston no longer had a guide and has raged on the crankcase of the Paccar MX-460 engine unimpeded.
