The OM 471 engine of a Mercedes Arocs tipper suffered some serious damage, so we transported the truck to our workshop in 97618 Niederlauer, Germany, dismantled it and took a look inside. In this case, bearing damage had caused the engine block to become completely wrecked and nothing short of a major overhaul would be enough to get it working again. We completely dismantled it, removed the numerous, unusable individual parts and procured the necessary replacements. Once every component had been replaced and all the fluids had been refilled, the overhauled engine was tested for its performance on the engine stand. Finally, the engine was reinstalled in the Arocs with the help of our crane before we took the truck on a test drive for the final check, which it passed without any issues.
